These decentralized GPs have their own sources of income and today these are in the range of about 50 lakhs to few crores depending on the GP. The incomes include huge grants from both Central and State Government, which need to be spent efficiently and monitored effectively. In addition, these GPs are also expected provide all the services to the village citizens and take care of their grievances.Apart from the transaction with the Local Government, many villagers would like to have all other services in their village and at their doorstep, be it mobile charging, railway ticketing, weather monitoring, bus ticket booking, e-learning, banking, electricity payment, job searching, agricultural market analysis, on line buying, telemedicine etc.We at Sampoorna Swaraj Foundation have provided for the first time in India in 15 villages of Karnataka all these above. The Software Product is configurable and easily replicable in 240,000 Gram Panchayats of India. It is multilingual. It has a scalable Open Source – Three Tier Architecture and can be hosted in a Cloud Model. This is a Portal where ALL Stakeholders in a Gram Panchayat can interact and transact securely, be it Elected GP Members, GP Officials, Vendors and Contractors, NGOs, Citizens, other Government departments and businesses. More importantly it allows the citizens to monitor the Government operations in “Real Time”, which allows for participatory democracy as well as accountability in Government. All other solutions are NOT holistic, rather they are “Islands of Automation”.

What Is The Proposed Business Model?
To implement this portal solution across India in 240,000 Gram Panchayats and about 632,000 villages, we plan to adopt a Franchise Model at District level or at Taluk level. This will be similar to Tally model of market penetration.
Your Future Vision For The Company :
From our experience, we have recognized that implementing technology solutions in village level and bringing economic and social changes in the Rural area, is not easy for companies like Infosys and IBM. This needs a social bent of mind of the stakeholders, as well as intense involvement of the local population. We have envisioned this Foundation as a Social Entrepreneurship venture. The profit margins shall be re-invested for further technology development, as well as moving to other countries in the world.
